Neat mix of platformer and RPG with strong Paper Mario vibes

If you like Paper Mario and platformers in general you'll probably like this game. The ending is a bit aprupt though.

DARK SOULS™ III
 –

Great, but very challenging ARPG

This game fixes many of the problems I had with Dark Souls 1 and even some I wasn't even aware of. If DS1 felt too slow or player-unfriendly to you be sure to at least give this one a try.

Rocket League®

Fantastic Multiplayer arcade game

Honestly, if you hadn't heard of Rocket League up to this point you must've been living under a rock. If you enjoy competitive multiplayer games at all you'll like this game.

Stellaris: Synthetic Dawn Story Pack
 –

A great and fun expansion if you like robots

This expansion allows you to play as a special type of an empire- a machine empire. There are 3 unique types of them (Rogue Servitors, who are basically machines keeping people as pets and making sure they are happy; Driven Assimilators, who want to assimilate other beings into their hive-mind and Determined Exterminators, who just want all biological life to die. Machine lives are cool though) and one standard type, which is is pretty fun in itself. It also adds advisor voices (which are nice and add a bit of flavour), new machine portraits and a Fallen Machine Empire. I'd recommend getting this story pack if you want to primarely play as a machine empire, otherwise it is just a bit of flavour and not necessary at all.

Stellaris: Leviathans Story Pack
 –

Great Story Pack

This expansion adds 3 major things: Enclaves, War in Heaven and Guardians. The enclaves are stations with unique aliens that you can do different things, depending on their type (Traders, Curators and Cultural?) which give you nice bonuses and add a bit of flavour. The War in Heaven is when two fallen empires basically start a Galactic World War because of their hate over each other- I haven't had this event personally fire for me yet, so I can't tell you much, but from what I read, it is pretty fun and exciting. The Guardians are the big thing in this story pack, basically bosses you can fight in the galaxy for great rewards. Overall, I would recommend this story pack to everyone, as it adds a great ammount of flavour and fun in the game.

Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition

Age of Wonders III Collection
 –

It Grows on You

At first I wasn't that impressed with AOW III - it just dosn't look as epic and well designed as other big time sellers in this category. The more I played it however, I realised that the game draws you in with it's combination of fantasy, empire building and warfare. The game also takes on an RPG game flavor with the various heroes that lead your armies. I thought the video reviews on Gamespot and IGN really undersold this game and the depth behind it. On special, this game is a bargain at twice the price.

DARK SOULS™ III Deluxe Edition
 –

Warning: may cause dysfunctional relationship

It's hard, it's pretty. It's down-right abusive, at times. You say to yourself "NO MORE", but you come back. You always come crawling back. And DSIII always takes you back, and it's all good again... till the cycle repeats.

WWE 2K18 Deluxe Edition
 –

2 steps forward, 2 steps back.

While I appreciate that 2k is committed to not microtransactioning their games to hell, I am really not impressed with the new lootbox unlock system, especially given how little VC (Virtual Currency?) you earn from matches and promos. It's double bad when you add the fact that VC is also used for attributes and skills.

The new running around backstage fetch questy myCareer is kinda not fun. The matches themselves are good, but it shouldn't take me having to track down a guy, sit through the canned animation, accept his side quest then talk to whoever then start my match or promo EVERY MATCH.

The graphics have seen a major overhaul in all areas except the hair (also still has janky physics like drapes). The CAS cloth texture feature is way better and doesn't take ages to load anymore. Actually, CAS overall has seen improvement.

The match flow is better and bugs are actively being fixed. A definite improvement overall, but not for non-wrestling fans.

DARK SOULS™ III
 –

Great price, had to wait a bit for the steam key

Despite having to wait two days for the steam key, the price was the lowest of seen yet for Dark Souls III so the wait was definitely worthwhile in my opinion. Very happy with the purchase.

Urban Empire

Terrible

The idea behind this game was good, but the execution is terrible. It's buggy, it runs poorly, it has a bad UI. Even when things are working, it's hard to see what effects your actions have because the game just doesn't show you. You are presented with many choices, but you don't really know what the effects will be, and once it's done you can't really see the results.

On top of that the tagline just annoys me far more than it should, 'Be a mayor player'!? It's not even a good play on words! Major and Mayor don't sound similar! Ahhhhh!
