OK if you like the genre

Nice empire customisation, great exploration in early game, gets bogged down in mid game. Poor combat, all games seem samey after a while

Age of Wonders III Collection

Excellent fantasy 4x

Good race variation with the DLCs, great tactical combat. One of my favourite fantasy 4Xs

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire - Obsidian Edition
 –

Classic fantasy isometric RPG

A must if you like classic RPGs like Baldur's Gate. Setting and mechanics improved compared to PoE 1. Good story (the political part, the souls/gods plot is so-so), interesting setting and companions. Very nice graphics. Combat is OK with some increased difficulty mods, takes some time to get used to (I played the RTwP mode).

Stellaris: Federations
 –

Most of this was given for free in patch

If you look purely at what this DLC alone adds, it seems a bit lackluster. That is only because most of the features for this DLC were added for free in the base game in a patch. The DLC itself only expands on what you cando with federations, adds a bunch of origins and some megastructures and juggernauts that are mobile shipyards.

Stellaris: Nemesis

Needs a bit more time to cook

At the time of this review, Ive come to the conclusion the devs still need to adjust and rebalance the things this DLC adds. Once again, do note that a lot of the content and new features are added in a free patch to the base game. The DLC expands on those new features.
As for the main things the DLC adds:
- Espionage (without DLC you get bare minimum). Even with DLC I honestly haven't used much and think needs more work. It costs too much resources for how little you can gain from doing it.
- A new victory condition by becoming a crisis yourself.
- Expands the Galactic Community system a bit.

Imperator: Rome Deluxe Edition

Fun

I've been having a blast playing this. 40+ hours in and I'm still learning and improving. There are some small things that annoy you here and there but overall it's a lot of fun. Maybe one of these days I'll actually play as Rome.

Stellaris: Nemesis
 –

Finally, espionage but not as rich as I'd like

The latest Stellaris DLC brought a free update with big changes, which isn't new if you've played the game since it first launched. That 1.0 version is a completely different game compared to what we have now.

Lots of people are so unhappy with the population changes for Stellaris 3.0 that they're review bombing this Nemesis DLC unnecessarily, so it can be hard to get an accurate picture.

The espionage addition is really great to see, and adds interesting layers to first contact and gaining intel on other empires, which is great. However, the actual process is very lean and lacks some of the depth you might expect from, say Crusader Kings. It definitely feels like a first pass at espionage, and hopefully updates down the road can add more meat to the meager bones.

Imperator: Rome - Heirs of Alexander Content Pack
 –

More fun

Specific mission trees for the successor states gives you a sense of purpose and helps you to create a certain narrative in your game. I didn't think much of the wonder builder at first but they add another fun element to think about. I thought it would be end game stuff but you can accumulate a lot of money pretty quickly as some states.

Catherine Classic

Not for the faint of heart

The game puts you in the shoes of a dude who's having second thoughts about his prospective marriage with his girlfriend (a baby on the way too). In steps a buxom young beauty who tempts you to leave it all behind.

Chaos ensues. The puzzle game of moving blocks around takes place as nightmares. Every night is a new puzzle stage. They get progressively harder as the game progresses and I truly mean that. This game is hard...and I played on normal. Thankfully the game has a nice soundtrack to accompany you and when you finally reach the top on those challenging stages...well, it makes you want to take a chance with a hot blonde!

Crusader Kings II: The Reaper's Due Content Pack
 –

SO MUCH DLC

The amount of dlc's for this game makes your head spin. These content packs are strictly speaking unnecessary but still essential if you know what I mean.

Crusader Kings II: Sword of Islam
 –

Alhamdulillah!

Allows you to play as a Muslim. World domination would've been mine if it hadn't been for those blasted meddling Christians and their dog!

One of the better ones

Adds a lot of variety with the different focuses. Increases the roleplay aspect of the game.

Crusader Kings II: Conclave Content Pack
 –

Sure

"Content packs" really should've been part of the actual dlc but whatever. Worth it for the detail oriented among us.

Crusader Kings II: Horse Lords

My kingdom for a horse!

Allows you to play as nomads. You can do some fun stuff with them like turning all of the middle east into Nestorian true believers.
