Mount & Blade: Warband - Viking Conquest Reforged Edition

Good DLC, worth getting when on sale. Everything is expanded from native.

There are few flaws, expensive troops that you need to grind so long to get can die in few hits, annoying bugs, and hardcore campain.

Crusader Kings II: Conclave
 –

The Council

To many, Conclave is an under appreciated DLC, which makes the game more difficult by increasing the power of a ruler's council. This, however, is incorrect, as the council's power can be pretty easily managed through shrewd planning and placing the most powerful vassals on the council, regardless of their skill. The improved education system is also a huge improvement on the vanilla education system. The improvement on laws also streamlines the game, making management easier, and unlocks new options for realm management, along with the new law voting system, which requires only a majority of the council to approve for the law (5-10 characters), instead of requiring a majority of all of the vassals of the realm to approve it. Playing as a vassal is also improved with this DLC, as it gives more flexibility to those who sit on their ruler's council.

As with all Paradox DLCs, consider purchasing this on sale.

Cities: Skylines - Mass Transit
 –

Much needed transport options you could only get in mods before

It feels like the developers took a look at what the community was doing for themselves, and then lifted a bunch of ideas directly into the game. This is not necessarily a bad thing, support for these features is probably better this way.

Anyway, you get much needed options and controls to influence the transport network of your city. The ability to fine tune is always welcome, and the public transportation side gets a lot of new options. You get all kinds of road options as well, but the car AI is still not the best. Clever road and intersection planning is a must, since putting down some avenues is useless if the AI can't use all the lanes properly.

Cities: Skylines - Industries
 –

Bordering on micromanagement

I have mixed feelings on the contents of this DLC. On one hand, it adds a whole lot of customization options to industrial zones, but at the same time, growing the districts becomes a manual task instead of just zoning out an area. You have to balance production levels lest your factories run dry of materials, and the UI is a bit cumbersome for that. On the other side, the new zones are a great source of revenue, and it adds a lot of tools to visually and thematically customize your city, if you're into that sort of role playing.

Europa Universalis IV: Mandate of Heaven
 –

Good DLC

While expensive, this DLC adds a much more historically accurate portrayal of the Emperor of China and the relationship between emperor and tributary. It also adds useful mechanics to the rest of the world.

It's worth it if on sale, especially if the sale's 50% off or more.

Crusader Kings II: The Reaper's Due
 –

Yersina Pestis

Despite some complaints that this DLC makes the game harder, it makes a good effort at better representing the effect of disease in the Middle Ages. Without this DLC, the "Ill" trait is not even close of an accurate representation to how debilitating illness would be to a ruler. While the amount of diseases are limited, and should be expanded to include more disease categories, the epidemic system is strikingly accurate. The prosperity mechanic is also a good addition to the game.

As always, while this DLC is good, consider buying it on sale.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
 –

Castlevania Reborn!

Bloodstained is everything it needed to be and much more. It takes the best of Castlevania's elements and fuses them into a brand new game, while having several nods to Castlevania's past. There are hundreds of weapons, magic spells, and souls to collect, and there's a crafting and cooking option, as well as a few dozen side quests. Bloodstained's castle is huge and varied. It takes about 15-20 hours to complete the game, but 25-30 to find all the secrets and do the hidden boss battles. The game design is fantastic, though the graphics and story are average at best. If you loved Symphony of the Night, this is more or less a spiritual successor and you won't be disappointed. Buy this game now. It's worth every cent. More characters and game modes are being added later for free, so the only pay DLC is if you want the optional boss fight against IGA himself.

Stories: The Path of Destinies
 –

Great storytelling, fun atmosphere

This game excels in storytelling. While a single run through of the events is short, the groundhog day like mechanics more than makes up for it. The characters have depth, the dialog is sharp and witty, I was entertained all the way through. Combat is not too involved and a bit repetitive, but that's less of the focus of this game. Overall I had a blast!

XCOM 2: War of the Chosen
 –

If you thought the aliens couldn't get any more powerful...

They do. They really do. Get ready for a ride Commander!

If you love the core game, this expansion bring more of the same, good stuff to the table. It adds more classes for both sides, unique boss fights, more game mechanics to develop your rebel base, and great replay value if you had the base story in bag already. It's fun, and it's challenging, it's pure XCOM. I recommend you get the other DLCs too, cause those mechs sure come in handy for this one... :P

Beware, this expansion requires more horsepower from your machine than the base game.

Crusader Kings II: Legacy of Rome
 –

Excellent DLC

This DLC is essential to any CKII player. The addition of permanent armies, Retinues, makes army building much more fun, and the addition of extra flavor and events for the Byzantine Empire and Orthodox religion adds some extra fun stuff. The DLC is also extremely cheap (5 USD), and can be purchased on a sale for less than the price of a cup of coffee.

Overall, this DLC is essential, and I would recommend every CKII player who does not have it to consider investing the price of a cup of coffee into their game to greatly improve their experience.
