One of the few games this new year that I have enjoyed.
The Escapists is one of the few games this new year that I have enjoyed. I have played it profusely, escaping 2 out of the 9 prisons (including the extra ones) and I love the way it works. You can name prisoners, guards etc, you get to pick YOUR way out, and I love the things the guards say at rollcall. It makes me lol.
But, I would add a prison editor so that people can create and publish their own prisons. It would be hard to implement, sure, but it would make a valued and great addition to the game.
Having a lot of fun, so far invested a couple hours on it. The game incorporates the RogueLike elements with Tower Defense, excelling in both. Making you want more after every death.
I played the original 3 gk games and I have to say this anniversary edition was very well done. If you don't like PAC adventure games this game may sway your opinion. Amazing art and awesome story writing. I'd love to see "The Beast Within" done next.
If you would like to make decisions and feel like you are actually in the world of twd. Play this game. Extremely fun and like the show very emotional but enthralling.
This definitely a different kind of hidden object game. There are two women that present "spells" for you and your goal is to locate the letters that form the spells in the different areas of the house. The house is the same for each spell so one ends up searching the same areas repeatedly for the letters. The letters are cleverly hidden and I found myself asking for help more often than usual. There are multiple side tasks that keeps one busy between and during the search that are pertinent to the storyline. Some of which pertain to the kind of path you will follow: that of light or darkness. I followed light, but I'm curious how the game would end if I had chosen otherwise.
There are enough creepy things that jump out at you to warrant playing the game with a light on! From the beginning, you get the sense that the game is more about setting a mood than solving puzzles. Although there are enough of those as well. I will admit to chuckling a little bit when the title "The Emptiness" was spoken at the end of the opening video. It's bit melodramatic to an otherwise interesting introduction. The audio of the actors has no relation to their lips moving so it's a bit like watching a badly dubbed foreign film. Those are minor technical issues though and don't really affect gameplay. The only irritating moment for me was when the game asked for a glass to be filled with water. There are glasses and sources of water in multiple locations, but the game wanted a specific glass filled with water from a specific place. Lapses of logic like that and the repetitive nature of the location are the only criticisms of an otherwise great game.
Do you love driving? - If your answer is "yes", this game is for you. Graphics are better than first version, there are more duties, trucks. It is real fun. But I think, one should you controller for play, not keyboard, it's hard to play with keyboard.

A solid RPG with that classic tactics gameplay
Wasteland 2's a very well-crafted top-down isometric tactics RPG with everything you look for in its genre of game; fun strategic combat and exploration of a massive world with plenty to do in it. Like most RPGs of its kind, it starts off slow and has that level of unfairness like gun jams at the worst times and unbelievable missed attacks that might be off-putting to some. If you're familiar with Fallout or X-COM you'll be very familiar with the combat and the plethora of information/stats presented to you and you'll be right at home. Casual players looking for a game that won't eat up all their time in huge chunks need not apply.
Got this game free and thought I'd quickly give it a go. well what can I say? A flash game with an iOS feel and that one more go feeling, where does the time go?
I really like this game. Interesting take on the 4x strategy game graphics wise and I like the hero system, a la endless space. The thing I really can't understand is why the mac port is still 32 bit and not 64 bit, like the PC version after all this time. Also not sure about the combat system which I think should have been more like Age of Wonders 3 as the fights are really not that in-depth.
