Unpolished and Full of Glitches

This game is a far cry from it's predecessors. The whole game felt extremely unpolished and rushed. The story line felt generic, the choices felt linear, and there were so many bugs that it almost wasn't playable.

The story line from this game was, by far, my least favorite story line from any of the Walking Dead games. To make matters worse, the choice system gives you the illusion that you're making choices to alter the story, but it's just marching you in an extremely linear path. For instance, you have to make a choice to save someone over another person, but, it really doesn't matter who you save because the survivor will die in the next episode. You are often given choices that convey the same emotional response but are just worded differently.

The gameplay is almost non-existent. You rarely get a chance to walk around and puzzle solve. I felt like I was playing one big cut scene with combo moves to push from time to time. This is how Walking Dead Season 2 felt, so this didn't bother me that much.

But let's talk about the glitches, oh my goodness, the glitches! There were too many to count. The biggest bug I encountered was a bug that would cause my game to stutter for a second every 5 seconds or so. This progressed through almost the entire game. It's been a known bug for AMD processor users since the release of the game. Of course, it's not fixed. Other glitches include camera angles getting stuck, characters being thrown around the scene, characters popping in and out, characters lagging. The funniest glitch I found was, after a character died in a previous episode, I spotted him walking around in the background with the group.

This isn't a glitch, but, some zombies are two-dimensional in hordes. It reminded me of days of old, where N64 games would have two-dimensional crowds to cut back on game resources. It looked extremely cheap.

The only redeeming aspects of this game are the graphics (they look pretty nice) and the ending to the story. Overall, this was my least favorite Walking Dead game and I'm just glad I had the patience to finish it. I do not recommend this one, just read up on what happens to Clementine and save yourself the trouble.

Pros:
Good Graphics
Polished Menus
Good ending

Cons:
Terrible story
Choice system is too linear
Numerous bugs/glitches
Unpolished and Hurried

Need A Gamepad

This is a competent port of a decent game with one exception...it is COMPLETEY unoptomized for keyboards. You can't adjust the controls or even figure out what they are without outside research because everything comes up as gamepad symbols.
It's still a pretty game, runs smooth, and takes some puzzling as well as fighting to play which is lovely, but it doesn't mention this big issue so it's a difficult to reccomend nostalgia trip.
