Well balanced on harder difficulties
It's Mars, it's colonizers, it's catastrophes (at times) ... all it is missing is the DOOM marine! Loads of fun and being a Paradox title it will be well supported for much time to come.

– Fun cosmetic DLCBut really not essential to enjoy the game. If you can get it on sale it is fun to play with, but arguably worth the full price. by andregurov, USA - Jul 7th 2018

– EngagingBut not overwhelming. Due to the paucity of naval wargames out there this is still worth picking up, if these type of games are in your wheelhouse. by andregurov, USA - Jun 24th 2018

– Rarely represented eraThat is perhaps a bit staid and wonky at times, but the opportunity to play a naval wargame - with no major bugs or problems - set here is one well worth taking. Recommended if you like these type games/board wargames. by andregurov, USA - Jun 24th 2018

– Adds some depthWorth picking up if you really enjoy Endless Legend, but not essential to enjoy the game. by andregurov, USA - Feb 18th 2018

– Best RPG this yearFantastic game with great depth and reams of dialogue; it feels like an honest choose-your-own adventure game set in a great world and story. Certainly the best RPG I've played this year. by andregurov, USA - Oct 13th 2017

– Excellent tactics gameFor a very simple ruleset and equally simple boards, this game is a delight akin to chess with fewer moves and quicker play. The ladder method of "moving up" rewards each victory as hard-earned and makes losses truly hurt; highly recommended. by andregurov, USA - Sep 3rd 2017

– Not really Mafia, but still loads of funIt doesn't quite hold to the Mafia ideal, but there is no doubt the game is simply fun to play. New Bordeaux is very convincingly detailed (as a native New Orleanian is it jolly good to see how the created setting holds up vs the reality it is based upon) and the story is compelling; it takes some time to finds its groove but once it does it clicks very well. The only real downside is that the quests/activities are a bit repetitive, but the gunplay is snappy and story more than makes up for it. by andregurov, USA - Sep 3rd 2017

– Fun but tediousTakes a l-o-n-g time to get into, but once you do it does have a good arc to gameplay. by andregurov, USA - Dec 31st 2016

– Unique strategic rogue-liteMore fun than it looks, and far more than the sum of its parts. You can sink more playtime into it than you would think! by andregurov, USA - Dec 31st 2016

– Full set but not really necessaryThe DLC is okay, but really doesn't add much to the game that you must play. Still, considering it is often for sale as the same price of just the base game it is worth it for the right price. by andregurov, USA - Dec 31st 2016

– Awesome kingdom-builderNot simply a great game, one of the most complete and awesome games of all time. Some of the DLC is just alright, but when added all up they bring a wealth of new experiences to the game. This is a great way to start right here, though. by andregurov, USA - Dec 31st 2016

– Tough but fairAs a physics title it is outstanding. As an engineering title it is outstanding. And as a management sim it is outstanding. But what is most outstanding is how these independent pieces unite to make a truly compelling and human game. Reach for the moon, and you may just discover a lot about yourself. by andregurov, USA - Nov 27th 2016

– Challenger to CivGreat game and the expansions really add a lot to it. It is almost as good as the Civilization series! by andregurov, USA - Nov 27th 2016

– Many hours can be wastedAt least that is what my wife complains about when she sees me playing it. One of the best strategic space games. Can't wait to play the expansions! by andregurov, USA - Nov 27th 2016

– Naval power!Fun strategy game that is pretty easy to pick up and learn. by andregurov, USA - Nov 27th 2016

– Perfect strategy titleVery dense but clear gameplay, which allows you to play as a major power in a predictable way or as a minor country run amok. Lots of fun and lots of replayability. by andregurov, USA - Nov 27th 2016

– Build it and they will comeTalk about a time sink! You can build anything from fantasy worlds to a recreation of your hometown, and then unleash hell upon it just for giggles. A near-perfect game that you can actively shape in the direction you want to go in. by andregurov, USA - Nov 27th 2016

– Improvement on Tropico 4Not revolutionary, but evolutionary and a lot more polished than Tropico 4. But pick up the complete collection as there is a lot of DLC, some of which is quite worth playing. by andregurov, USA - Nov 27th 2016

– Fairly pedestrian simThere are several games in the series, and this is one of the better ones; playing as a airport traffic controller can be fun and stressful, but is rarely fulfilling. by andregurov, USA - Nov 27th 2016
