Colorful and light-hearted

Much like Puyo Puyo Tetris 1, the sequel offers a quite lengthy, light-hearted campaign with bright colors and humorous dialogue. The game is likely to appeal to both fans of Tetris and Puyo Puyo. If you're not familiar with either of the two classics, the story mode provides plenty of opportunity to get the hang of them as you'll be playing both Tetris and Puyo Puyo as you (hopefully) clear the star-rated stages. The solo and multiplayer modes allow you to pick the game of your choice, though.
The story is loosely connected to the plot of the first game, but it's not necessary to have played PPT1 before diving into PPT2. The game runs well even on lower-spec systems, looks great, and has a happy chiptune-y soundtrack. The only real downside of the game is the lack of cross-platform multiplayer, but the game isn't really aimed at the hardcore competitive crowd (Puyo Puyo Championship, Tetris Effect: Connected, Tetrio are good alternatives here).
All in all a fun game that I keep coming to for another round of highscore chasing.
