You explore space, trying to get home to earth. It has all the roguelike elements you wish for, you start over after every failure, richer only in experience and sometimes additional options to start. The flight system is very interesting, utilizing gravity wells and newtonian physics quite well.
Fan since Civ 1, and every installment got better. Complexity is quite high by now, but everything is consistently explained and you'll have hundreds of hours of fun with this one
Think XCOM with Warhammer lore and rules. Not my cup of tea, but if you are into Warhammer, add 1 star easily. Multiplayer still works, so if you know somebody also into Warhammer, add another star.
It developed a lot over the years, and 2.0 with its "territorial movement system" was definitely a step forward. But the basic problems (look up "stellaris blobbing") with the game mechanics remain and won't be addressed any more. If you enjoy "painting the map", add a star. And if you are into Sci Fi and Strategy and don't own it yet, buy asap!
As with the other story packs, you don't really "need" them for the game, they just make the discoveries you can make more interesting. If you only click them away and don't care for them, you won't need this. Otherwise, the story quality is high as usual, so don't hesitate to buy.
