Divinity: Original Sin

Wonderfull

It only took almost 24 hrs to down load but it was worth the wait. I ust need to get proper mouse so I can play easier the magic mouse is not so good when you need a mouse wheel and two buttons to click. I think it is going to be a great game once i get going I picked up a better mouse and i was better able to control things but this game is way too hard even on easy setting i cant even get 5 feet away from the castle with out meeting 3 or 4 enimies that are each ten fold stronger then my party and i get defeated no matter waht i do and the trade for better weapons or armour is outrageisly priced. not sure if i will play it any more

OTTTD
 –

Awesome TD/RPG Hybrid Game!

First Impressions...

OTTTD is a fun, well thought out Tower Defense (TD) RPG hybrid, single player game. It has a lot of really cool enemies to fight and so far, some awesome heroes to play and level up. At this point, I am very happy with my purchase and I feel the game is well worth the asking price. IMO

Beware, the game is a little hard if you try to advance too fast and requires a lot of grinding to level up multiple characters! Just when you level up your first three characters and get them weapons & armor, you get another character to level up & gear up! Then another one! It's great, but it takes a lot of time and dedication!

If you are not into playing the same maps over & over & over again to level up your characters, and buy better weapons & armor, then this game is NOT for you.

Pros:

+ 25 maps with a few separate endless mode maps
+12 tower types to build with various cool upgrades
+ 7 different hero classes
+ RPG elements and character leveling system
+ Different skill trees for each character with active abilities & passive skills
+ Over 30 different weapons with 6 different firearm classes
+ Many different armors to purchase with a few stats
+ Long game due to the grind-fest nature of the game
+ Zombies!!! AND Flying sharks & eyeballs! Now how cool is that! :-)

Cons:

- The game requires you to play the same maps over & over again
- Can only take a squad of 3 characters into battle
- View is way too zoomed in
- Maps are very small
- Limited predesignated tower placement areas
- Single player game only. No multiplayer
- Small number of endless mode maps which you must grind for
- Could have more stats. It makes the RPG features feel limited
- Did I mention the game is a major GRIND-FEST!!! lol

So far the game runs great in all resolutions and all graphic settings. Once in a while I need to restart the game in windowed mode if I can't get it to launch correctly. This only happens once in a while.

The game is pretty solid and polished. It's fun and a different TD/RPG hybrid experience. Not only will you be placing towers, but you will be strategically moving your 3 squad members around the maps killing massive amounts of enemies! Some enemies are really cool! KUDOS to the devs!

I highly recommend this game to anyone that can see past the major grind-fest and loves TD games with RPG elements! It is one of the better TD games out there IMO. I give it 5 out of 5 stars just for the sheer fun factor!!!!

Here are my system specifications: Apple iMac, i5 Quad-Core Intel processor 3.1GHZ, AMD Radeon HD 6970M with 1GB dedicated video RAM, 4GB system RAM, 1TB hard drive running OS X version 10.6.8, Journaled HFS+ Extended file system.

Edit: I have been playing this game all weekend and I can say without a doubt that it is super fun, finely polished and a very strategic game! I am addicted! It is well worth the asking price IMO!

Evil Pumpkin: The Lost Halloween

This game was very challenging even in the easiest mode. This game took a long time to finish as it was captivating and hard to figure out where to go next. I really enjoyed the game but did get frustrated at times. The hint button made it hard sometimes as it didn't seem to always work.

Addictive!

Be warned, this game has a very steep learning curve. If you are into medieval history, strategy, and role-playing games, then the time spent learning will be well worth it! Watching some tutorial videos on YouTube is highly recommended!

SPACECOM
 –

Nice addictive strategy game

Spacecom is a good strategy game, the minimalist visual and sound designs suit it beautifully, the systems are easy to understand after a few rounds - and at that point the play is challenging and addictive, too. Only problem I've encountered is with the map view, but it's a serious one: when play moves off the edge of the map, the only way to keep it in view is to zoom out. There is no way to pan or scroll the map, you can only zoom in or out, and when zooming out to keep a ship in view, the features quickly become too small to see anything; on the last level, the play goes off the top edge of the map, and even zooming out all the way won't bring it into view. I'm hoping that the game is still in development, and this bug will be fixed - aside from this problem it would be highly recommended with 4-5 stars.

UPDATE: the map problem turns out to be a bug with the trackpad on MacBook Pro. Problem solved by conecting an external mouse, and right-click-and-drag will move the map anywhere you want. Until they get this bug sorted out, the system requirements for this game should include a mouse with a right click.

Might be fun game if worked

Well this was a complete waste of $19, sometimes works and mostly freezes. I have a high end mac system that can handle this game. All these issues and you can't even play it.

The Wolf Among Us (Telltale Key)

Storytelling like it should be

This game is like watching a great movie in which you control the main plot developments. Anyone who likes a comic-style, a bit melodramatic and very well thought out story with a bunch of twists and turns, should definitively buy this game.

Great mix of story/RPG and action

I have to say, I'm really enjoying this game.

There is a great mix of story telling/role playing and action/combat scenes.

TONS of quests available so there is always something to do.
OR you can just wander around and see what's going on in different parts of the world.

Very very fun and the other players are nice and supportive.
It is a "freemium" model so there are upgrades and things you can spend $$$ on, but unlike other freemium models you have access to all the quests even as a free player.

Check it out, its fun!

I absolutely HATE this game and think it was a waste of my money. There is no reason for her wandering around with no way out of anywhere.

Divinity: Original Sin

Great RPG

I bought this on Steam a while ago when it was on special. It's a great RPG with enough complexity, narration and exploration to keep you going for a long while.

I was a little unsure I'd like that style of combat (being turn-based) but actually it's great and the breadth of skills and variety of talents mean you have a great capacity to customise the experience (not even considering crafting and loot, too).

Graphically it's excellent, full settings ramped up on my MB Pro and it looks great, art-work and environemnts are superb.

Story-wise; there are great voice actors and the main story plus the myriad side-quests make for an interesting journey indeed. Full audio narration is available on the main quest and some other moments throughout and in main it's good. Certainly the story has kept me moving forward wanting to unravel what's going on (not finished yet).

Definetely worth it.
