Poor man's LIMBO

Soulless: Ray Of Hope is a game eerily similar to LIMBO, a platformer with unique atmosphere. However, its platformer side is really meh, the checkpoints are weirdly placed, controls are clunky and there are bugs. Would recommend only for patient people.

Out There: Omega Edition
 –

Great idea, not so great realization

Out There: Omega Edition is one of those games whose concept is far better than the implementation. It is supposed to be a resource-management space exploration with high replay value, but it is so focused on luck (AKA random number generation) that everything else is completely overwhelmed by it.

It is clearly not developed fully. Too bad, because the idea is soooo good.

Cognition Game of the Year Edition
 –

Really solid detective game

This game doesn't offer a fresh take on point&click or detective games, but instead does almost everything right within a proven formula. The graphics are pleasant, controls decent, puzzles interesting and the story is good. UI is a bit clunky, that's why I give 4/5, but I would definitely recommend Cognition.

Total War™: ATTILA
 –

A good game in a poor setting

This time CA has finally managed to get the impact detection to a acceptable state for a total war game, you will see more shield pushing and cavalry charges has much greater effect as the they should. Combat feels better than ever compared to other modern total war games.

It is just to bad that the setting of the game is really not that interesting. You will either play as the falling western empire, A defensive eastern empire, or as a rampaging horde leaving little place for nation building that we previously enjoyed.

Crusader Kings II: Horse Lords
 –

A mediocre addition

This expansion can totaly be skipped because it serves no purpose in a game suposed to simulate the political situation and court intrigue in the dark ages. Playing as a nomad isn't really that fun and if you are playing in europe this DLC only adds the mercenary band system that you can live without.

Crusader Kings II: The Reaper's Due
 –

A good additon

The diseases are a nice addition and adds to the roleplay factor of the game. You will see minor diseases spreading from the start of the game and spread slowly from province to province. You can build hospitals to try to prevent the spread but in the games I have played the AI rarely build those.

Broken Age

Loved It!

This really is a fantastic game! The storyline and the characters are so well developed that the game will completely engross you. I especially loved the humor, specifically Jack Black's character. His character was hilarious and had me laughing at every comment the character made. This game mainly consists of pointing and clicking and figuring out puzzles. As previous reviews have mentioned, episode one's puzzles were more logical and easier to figure out. Episode two's puzzles were definitely harder and had me looking at walkthroughs on occasion. Nevertheless, don't let episode two's difficulty cloud your judgement about the overall quality of this game. If you do, you would be missing out on an outstanding game.

What Is This Game Even About?

After completing this game, I'm still confused about the storyline and the ending. The storyline starts out promising but falls flat. The gameplay is fairly simple. You have to navigate the character to find several glowing symbols. That's it. That's all you do in the game. Basically, it's a pricey digital version of hide and seek, except you do all the seeking. The ending is confusing. It doesn't really answer any of the questions you might have had during the game. I gave this game two stars because, although the storyline and the gameplay were underwhelming, the graphic design was really cool. The different colors and the 2D characters were an appealing touch to the game. However, despite this strength, it still not worth the money.

Such An Unexpected Surprise!

Normally, I play shooter/action games and crave the adrenaline that shooter and action games normally give you. So imagine my surprise when I bought this point and click game and instantly fell in love with the gameplay and the design. I was worried that this game would easily bore me, however, it did the complete opposite. I was completely absorbed by the gameplay and the puzzles. While some puzzles are difficult, the majority of the puzzles are logical. The best part is that you don't have to exit out of the game and search an online walkthrough if you get stumped. The game offers hints and an entire walkthrough if you truly cannot figure out what to do next. The designs in this game are beyond cool and the characters are humurous at times. Overall, this game is exceptional.

Europa Universalis IV: Mandate of Heaven
 –

Pretty Cool

The new "ages" mechanic with splendor points that you can spend on new abilities is pretty cool. Same for the "golden era" option, though it's a shame you can only declare one once per campaign. One thing to keep in mind is that all of your opponents will have access to the same improvements (you'll likely see dozens of "Nation X has declared a golden era!" messages).

The diplomatic macrobuilder is moderately useful, EU4 definitely needs more menus like this (so you can see, at a glance, if there are any nations around willing to ally you or accept vassalization).

Can't speak for any changes for the chinese/japanese factions as I haven't played those nations yet. I'm still worried about how crippled they'll be by the very slow expanse of institutions to that part of the world.

The Silent Age
 –

Cool and unique small platformer

The Silent Age is something really different, it has an unique graphics style, its mechanics (point & click) are unlike most 2d platformers, its voice acting and story are cool.

Considering the low price on sales, The Silent Age is an intriguing buy I can recommend.

Californium
 –

Artsy and interesting, but short

Californium has quite an interesting graphics style, which is inviting and lovable, but the game is quite short with somewhat clunky controls. If it were a little bit better and if there was more f it, Californium would be phenomenal, but it's only decent.
