  1. Same flower, different pot.*****

Played about 40 hours of Starfield and it's definitely Bethesda in space. The ship-building and main story are great once they get going, but exploration feels kind of shallow. Planets look cool but there's not much to actually do on most of them. Still, if you liked Skyrim or Fallout, you'll probably enjoy it — just don't expect No Man's Sky levels of freedom. Solid 3 stars from me.

  2. Promised but didn't deliver*****

This game leaves a sour taste. Lots of promises, of adventure, discovery, bewilderment, all of those things you usually associate with Bethesda, with space exploration, with the epic tale of humanity conquering the stars.

But so much leaves to be desired. There are moments of course because they did not suddenly forget how to make great games. It's just sad because it remains mere moments of brilliance, of writing, of character building, of amazement. And the rest just disappoints you from start to finish. I've enjoyed exploring but not as much as I could've expected.

    Disappointing.
