Description

The era of colonization is over and a new age of exploration has begun. You’ve just scratched the surface of Mars, now get ready to go below and beyond!

Features:

  • Back to the Bases - Expand your colony into caves and lava tubes under the surface. Players can use existing structures, or underground-specific buildings to build a base for exploration. Expand with caution, potential cave-ins can destroy everything.
  • Mine Your Own Business - Players can now go below the surface and beyond the red planet for resource mining. Construct special rocket-propelled buildings to mine resources, including exotic minerals and Data Samples, on passing asteroids. Don’t stick around too long or else the Asteroid will drift away with your stuff!
  • Branching Paths - The Recon and Expansion research trees unlock additional buildings, vehicles, upgrades, and locales. They will also unlock asteroid mining and tunnel colonization.

  1. Extension for mid/ late game

    It is a good extension of the game for those who want to play more with a colony. It diversifies the mid and late game with several activities.
    If you enjoy the game, it's worth buying it!

  2. Good ideas but buggy

    The idea of extending the game field to the underground may be a good one, but this expansion brings to the game too many still unsolved bugs. Lots of technologies to research and new buildings, but it's not enough. I can't recommend it yet.

  3. Worth buying if you want to expand the mid game.

    Personally i really like this DLC because it makes the mid game less monotonous. Usually the mid game is basically just expanding what you already built in the early game; until you have enough resources and tech to terraform.

    This DLC adds underground mars in a special map. The transition is made in certain points on the map so it isn't accessible at the start. The underground has several precious resources that you can bring to the surface to help. It has different threats than usual. This DLC also requires to use rovers a lot which IMO is a plus because they are barely used in the normal map.

    If you like surviving mars i think this DLC will add enough content for a new run.
    If you didn't like surviving mars i don't think this DLC will change your opinion
