While not as flashy as the Civilization Series, Millennia helps expand out the 4x genera with a nice humble game of it's own that is entertaining to say the least.

Innovative 4x with deep mechanisms, even if UI is subpar.
Pretty good turn-based strategy game, it's kind of like the Civilization series, but with a bit of a different spin on some things.
