  1. XCOM with a twist

A spinoff to XCOM 2, it takes the same proven formula but changes things up a bit. You now have a breach mechanic where you can plan your point of entry and then see your team breach into the area with enemies and perform your first attack in satisfying slow motion. Some parts are very different from XCOM 2, no permadeath for instance. If your soldiers die, you have to restart the mission.

If you are a fan of XCOM, you can't go wrong with this game, just know what to expect and you will have a great time!

  2. Fun game, distilled experience

It's a fun police tactical style game. Chimera Squad reminded me a little of X-COM Apocalypse with the urban setting and a little of Jagged Alliance 2 as each of the team have their own unique personality. Having a mixed team of humans, aliens and hybrids was a good move. I would have preferred the city to have more strategic elements as it was always pretty clear what mission to take, and overall it is a smaller game than most XCOM games but it works well for having a tight focus.
