  1. Good game

It really is a bit like "baby's first XCOM", but it is well executed and fun to play.

  2. Not really XCOM, more XCOM lite

If you are picking this up in the hopes that this is more traditional XCOM fun you may well be disappointed. This game is more of a spin off than a proper mainline entry to the series. It plays very differently on the strategic layer (if you can really call it that). You are limited in the overall scope of what you do what with the game focusing on one city rather than the global scope of the mainline games.

You're also restricted to a pool of pre-determined named agents and any new agents you gain are also from a pre-determined pool and as a result of this change your squad cannot die, should they "die" in mission they only become injured and missing from action for a few.

There are some interesting new ideas in the game, like the breach system, the forced smaller scale and the "Interleaved Turns" (you go, I go kind of deal) which freshen up the old formula a little, which make this a fun diversion for the series but ultimately forgettable after a completion or two.

It's a decent enough pickup for 50% off.
