  1. An underrated gem
    by ultra_0, Egypt - Jan 14th 2019

The game is truly underrated and has a very 1960s USA vibe to it
(unlike the Godfather/Goodfellas vibe of Mafia II).

It has some of the best acted cut-scenes in gaming.
The story is that of revenge; simple really.
The gameplay is repetitive yet very enjoyable.
The gun fights and driving felt very awkward at first, but after a few upgrades, they've become really good.
The music and sound tracks are unique and overwhelmingly good: actual songs from the 1960s.
The three DLCs are fun and each add a different short-ish story. I liked Faster, baby! the most.
    The achievements aren't grindy.

-At first, I was annoyed by the greyed-out feel of the in-game graphics. I gave it some time and I was impressed by how beautiful the different objects are rendered and how they look.
-The game sometimes glitches, so a quick Escape>Reload from Last Checkpoint fixes it.

    10/10 would recommend.

  2. Good game
    by Ulrich L., Taiwan - Dec 25th 2018

The opening music is very good. The part of the game itself has quite a sense of bringing in it. In a short period of time, the player can be integrated into the story. The battle is more likely to die than the imaghttps://www.wingamestore.com/myaccount-reviews/ination. The shooting is good and worth playing!

  3. It's Good.. at least the Mood of 60s
    by Abdullah A., Saudi Arabia - Dec 21st 2018

Before anything.. you need Dual Channel RAM + I5 - 6600k or better (for stable 60 fps at least)

Now about the game.. it's good but not great
Missions feel repetitive most of the times
But It has its moment, especially on DLCs
Music is just SOLID!! Radio Songs are great from 50s and 60s
The story is good with nice details
Driving is great (turn on realistic driving from Options)

For $60.. I'd say not worth it..
But for like 75% discount it's a very nice game (or even 60%)

At 1440p High Preset, am getting stable 60 fps at 99% of times

    - Ryzen 5 - 2600 (stock at 3.7GHz)
    - 8 x 2 (16GB) DDR4 RAM
    - GTX 1080 stockfreqncy
    - Win 10

  5. I liked it
    by Thorsten B.1, Germany - Dec 2nd 2018

This was a wonderful game with a great story. especially the setting in the south of of US and all the racial problems down there made it very interesting. Curious for Mafia IV ;-)

  6. Great, but Repetitive
    by ChaosKnight, USA - Jul 15th 2018

This game is great, but gets repetitive fast. It keeps you coming back for more though because of how fun it is. Each set of missions is basically the same, hence the repetition. You basically visit the same locations over and over to do slightly different objectives that progress the story and side quests. The expansion packs are fun, though they don't add much to the story. One lets you rebuild the bar from the start of the game. The others also add new elements and are nice fun distractions, but they don't do much of anything to flesh out the story or characters further. Definitely worth it on sale, but GTA or Saints Row are better options.

  7. First two were a bit better
    by KillerKV2, Hungary - Jul 7th 2018

First I played with Mafia II and I fell in love with than I played with the first one and also liked it. The third is a bit lower than the first 2 were but it also a good game :)

  9. Mafia 3 review
by Tizoc, United Kingdom - Dec 24th 2017

Driving over radicals in 60s/70s America is a welcome experience. Otherwise the game has a pretty decent plot.

  11. Story great, open world not so great
    by Noodles214, Germany - Sep 13th 2017

I love the first Mafia, it's my favourite game because of the great story, but also funny gameplay (of course it didn't age well). Mafia 2 was also a very good game, but for me it didn't reach the first. And now Mafia 3. It's a fun game, but far away from the first two games. Not because of the story. It's a good told revenge story, the cutscenes, the soundtrack and the main missions are great. But the rest of the game can't keep up to that. The open world missions are too repetitive. There are a lot of districts in the town you want to get the control over. And to reach this goal you have to do a lot of mostly boring missions. At first they are fun, because the gameplay works. Stealth is a little bit overpowered, but okay. The shootouts make a lot of fun, because the gunplay is very good. But when you do the same over and over, the fun gets lost. Would the game have its focus on the story like Mafia 1 and 2, it would be a very good game. But the open world stuff ruins that.

  12. Not really Mafia, but still loads of fun
    by andregurov, USA - Sep 3rd 2017

It doesn't quite hold to the Mafia ideal, but there is no doubt the game is simply fun to play. New Bordeaux is very convincingly detailed (as a native New Orleanian is it jolly good to see how the created setting holds up vs the reality it is based upon) and the story is compelling; it takes some time to finds its groove but once it does it clicks very well. The only real downside is that the quests/activities are a bit repetitive, but the gunplay is snappy and story more than makes up for it.

  15. Rough around the edges
    by Atombomb2097, Romania - Mar 17th 2017

It's a solid game, but a little rough around the edges.

The story is told in an innovative way and it's quite gripping.
The gameplay, gets a little too repetitive at times, so the game is best experienced in smaller doses.

I like the location, characters and overall atmosphere, yet it feels a bit shallow.

The graphics are inconsistent, there are places it looks fantastic and others where it's plain bad (look at the sky and you'll understand why).

Hopefully the extra content in the Season Pass will make better use of the world they've created.
