Description

The future of Rome is in your hands: what will your legacy be?
Take on the role of a young Legatus whose father was murdered by an unknown political opponent, forcing you to escape Rome and take refuge in the military campaign to subdue a Greek rebellion. Step by step, you increase your military prowess, strengthen yourself in the forge of combat, and become the Legatus everyone learns to both respect, and to fear. In Expeditions: Rome, you exert the will of Rome through your actions across the world stage, from the bright blue coasts of Greece to the deep forests of Gaul. Decide how people will view you, and Rome. Will you strike with an iron fist, or speak with a silver tongue? Will you embrace the political heritage of the Republic, or carve your own path as you navigate the complex politics of the Roman Senate? Every choice matters as you decide the fate of your legion, your close companions, and of Rome itself.

  1. Good Game

    This is what the Expeditions games have building towards for years and it is something really lovely to see. I hope this is not the Swan Song for Expeditions. But at the same time this is a high note and really the best version of Expeditions since it began.

    Really worth playing if you like CRPGs and Rome. I can't think of anything else like it.

  2. Played this game three times in a row...

    First I played this game blind, and I fell in love with the story and setting, the experience of immersing myself into events adapted from the lives of Pompey Magnus, Julius Caesar, and Caesar Octavian.

    Then I played on the highest difficulty, and I fell in love with the tactical combat, which is challenging enough to make building powerful characters really rewarding.

    The DLC and the few remaining achievements convinced me to play a third time. If you can be convinced to play Expeditions: Rome even just once, I think you'll really enjoy it.

  3. Turnbased tactical RPG, FOR ROME

    A CRPG where your choices in one battle will affect future ones. The battlefield consumable system affect your tactical choices a great deal.

    However, the actual tactical combat is pretty dry. There are not that many abilities, and the variety comes from the situations, now how to customize your character.
