  1. Fun but repetitive slice-of-life JRPG

All around a fun game, but the dungeons are a bit long-winded and repetitive. There's built-in cheats to make the process a bit faster.

  2. It really is golden

I'll be honest I don't like turn-based JRPG combat. In fact I kind of hate it. But the story here is fantastic, as is the music. I get this warm and nostalgic feeling playing it, because you're a high school student. It does have some annoying anime tropes but it is so engrossing. And the combat difficulty can be changed on the go. I for instance prefer to put the difficulty on easy while fighting dungeons mobs, and then increasing it to hard while fighting bosses. Something like skipping the grind. For people who love the combat though, you have a cool system of mixing Personas (your creatures) and creating new ones. Keep it mind that you can't can't max your relationship with everyone in one playthrough, which also means you can't get all the achievements, so if you plan on doing that it's best to play however you want on the 1st playthrough and look at a guide on the 2nd one (you're going to need it). While Persona 5 has better combat, it's worth experiencing this game's quaint charm of a small town.
