  1. One of Two

Federations and Utopia are two almost-required DLC for playing Stellaris. Federations, in particular, has some key features - namely, Origins, Megastructures, and Federations. The Origins add replayability and variety through different starting conditions. You can form a federation without owning this DLC - but you'll be limited to the default type, where this DLC adds more variety (many of which are much better suited to specific playstyles and empire types). And lastly, the megastructures - powerful end-game constructions that give you something to do in the late game besides crank out battleships. The Galactic Community is not terribly relevant, and the Juggernaught is nice - but not really the highlight of the DLC.

Stellaris Federations is well worth the purchase. Fantastic DLC that adds a nice amount of content to the game!

  3. One of the Stellaris must-haves

Since it often comes on sale, do try to grab it during one, but overall it adds a lot of value to the game via origins as well as expanding Federation mechanics (crucial if you enjoy the diplomatic gameplay).
