SILENT HILL f

Great Story - Poor Combat*****

I'm giving this 4 stars as, while I really love the story and recommend that game on that basis alone, the combat is frankly disappointing. It really pales in comparison to Silent Hill 2 Remake's combat. Even as someone who enjoys the janky combat of games like Elex, this was just a poor experience for me.

Borderlands 4 Super Deluxe Edition
 –

Better than 3 - Still below 2*****

This is definitely an improvement over 3 and, to my surprise, ran better than I expected. I think there must just be some very particular settings that tank performance. The gameplay is the best it's ever been. But, contrary to what most say, the humor is still rather poor. I haven't encountered anything like from the 2nd game yet that really made me laugh. So, if you're expecting a return to form on this front, I'd temper my expectations. It really is just the same kind of humor as in 3 again. As for the story, so far it hasn't gripped me but I will be sure to update if that changes

SILENT HILL 2

Phenomenal Remake*****

This is a fantastic remake of a classic. Highly recommended to all fans of survival horror. Arguably the best among its kind. Without spoiling anything, the story can also prove helpful for those grappling with multiple, potential conflicting feelings in any given situation

Street Fighter™ 6
 –

Great entry point for new comers*****

I never got enmeshed into the world of Street Fighter. V drew my attention for a short period, but ultimately didn't maintain any grip. This game, on the other hand, hooked me from the start, and I even quickly found myself preferring the classic control scheme.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
 –

Utterly fantastic*****

I didn't have any particular expectations going in, but this game completely blew me away. This is not only one of the best turn-based RPGs ever made, but one of the best games ever made, period. Despite completing it months ago, I still dwell on the story and feel it will stay with me forever. I can't praise this game highly enough. And if you are on the fence because turn based games generally aren't your thing, I still recommend this game without hesitation, as the particular style of gameplay caters to such players too

Total War: WARHAMMER III
 –

It's great. but a step back from 2*****

There's no other way to put it, but 2 is simply a superior game. I would not recommend this over 2 unless you plan on playing the map which combines units from all 3 games and have already purchased a substantial amount of DLCs from previous games. Since I have all previous DLC, this is my go-to game of the trilogy, but otherwise I would just stick with 2.

ARMORED CORE™ VI FIRES OF RUBICON™
 –

Great Addition*****

As a long-time fan of Armored Core and FromSoftware in general, this is a great addition to the series. Just be aware that it is quite different from the early games in the series!

Great lesser known soulslike*****

I had apprehensions about this game because it looks so similar to Code Vein in terms of gameplay, and I personally feel that was a very weak soulslike and the combat was extremely hollow / floaty. This game, however, plays quite differently despite the similarity in appearance. It's a great game, especially for those who enjoy exploration, but I'd still recommend games such as Khazan and Lies of P over it.

DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO Ultimate Edition
 –

A great addition, but not designed for longevity*****

This is a great addition to the BT games and pretty much everything I wanted. However, if you are looking for a fighting game to play competitively for a long period of time, this isn't it. This a primarily a single player game with unbalanced by nature multiplayer attached. Finding players can even be difficult. There are also very few cosmetics despite the menus implying a variety of unlockable options.

Mortal Kombat™ 1: Khaos Reigns Expansion
 –

Only buy it if interested in new characters*****

The new characters are a great addition. I'm happy Cyrax is now included and wasn't disappointed. But as for the story? It's abysmal. It's so bad I couldn't even remember what was happening WHILE it was happening. And I say this as someone who enjoyed the story dlc of MK11

Resident Evil Village
 –

Second only to 4*****

Easily the best Resident Evil game I've played since 4, and I've played all of them. A little bit on the short side, but worth every minute.

Chivalry 2 (Epic)
 –

A nice improvement*****

A good step up from the first game. Definitely worth it if you liked the first, but cross-play parties (a major selling point) have yet to be enabled. Got it to play with PS4 friends as cross-play was advertised, which is dissapointing.

Total War: WARHAMMER II - The Silence & The Fury

Final send off*****

An excellent final DLC for Total War 2. Beastmen are OP for now, but finally fun.

Classic Game with intriguing setting*****

This is a classic game with an intriguing setting. It's basically an on the rails shooter (you aim with the left stick, but you get used to it). The story is quite wacky. No issues running it.

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Game of the Year Edition
 –

Dated, but great.*****

Oblivion is my favourite elder scrolls game, but I would consider this a close second. The quests and stories are superior, but it plays drastically differently and is quite dated. You could potentially mod the game to fix this, however, I have not tried. Oblivion > Morrowind >> Skyrim, in my opinion.

DOOM Eternal Deluxe Edition (Bethesda)
 –

Excellent game, but avoid bethesda key.*****

Far superior to Doom 2016. I play on the hardest difficulty, which is very punishing (especially early on) until you get into the flow of the gameplay, but once you do, it's exhilarating and definitely worth even full price. However, make sure to back up your saves and try to get a steam key. My save was corrupted and I was unable to recover it with the help of Bethesda (I figured it out on my own eventually but their response was basically to just start all over because of their odd insistence on encrypted saves and their decision to delete not only corrupted saves, but all saves including autosaves and the profile save when an issue arises). The Bethesda launcher is, at the time of writing, the worst launcher bar the Microsoft store (Microsoft store couldn't be worse even if they tried, look up issues with uninstalling games after downloads cutting out for examples). Bethesda launcher just doesn't work some days or just doesn't launch the game at all. Support are as helpful as they can be, but there's only so much they can do.

While I wish I never purchased the Bethesda version specifically, this is one of my favourite games in years, and I couldn't recommend it more besides these issues.

DRAGON BALL Z: KAKAROT - Deluxe Edition
 –

Best Dragonball Game in years*****

This, alongside FighterZ, is one of the best dragon ball games in years. It goes through the entire story of z, minus the filler, and is a great nostalgia trip. The collectible orbs are pointless, and it's quite easy even without leveling up, but I would take this over xenoverse 1 or 2 any day in terms of the gameplay. Also, Frieza's voice actor did a great job.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR

Excellent*****

Far better than the non-VR version. Especially with mods.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
 –

Great shooter.*****

Not as good as Doom, and arguably not as good as the first game, but definitely worth playing nontheless
