While it does not take place in the same setting and universe as Planescape: Torment, Torment: Tides has many of the same themes and philosophical ideas. It has an engaging story that cannot quite match up to the overall quality of the game that inspired it, but on its own is a fantastic piece of interactive fiction.
Not quite a remake but the best way to play this classic
This version of Outcast is the game as it's creators originally intended-and it is by far the best way to play it these days. If you are at all interested in the game Outcast and its creation, I highly recommend also checking out the Digital Foundry DF Retro special on outcast, its history, its creation, and its many different versions.
Grime is an interesting 2D soulslike Metroidvania game. It has an interesting world and atmosphere. In fact, I would say that's what really sets it apart from other games that are attempting to do the same thing in the same genre: it really is doing it's own thing in terms of worldbuilding. The controls take some getting used to. It is not as fluid and fast as other similar games such as Hollow knight. Overall I Hollow Knight is still the best of the 2D soulslike games, but this one is up there too.
Kind of amazing that there's still expansions and support for a nearly 20 year old game. This one seems mostly geared toward people who are quite familiar with the game, seeing as it starts at level 70. However, even if you do not feel like starting at level 70 or getting there with a character, this expansion might be worth it as there are performance improvements to base game it seems.
Fell Seal is trying to be final fantasy tactics in a lot of ways. It is mostly successful in it's efforts. Sometimes being derivative is not a bad thing, since there are not a lot of games out there that recapture the magic of FF tactics. Sure, there are plenty of tactics games-but none that quite capture the complexity of the world of Ivalice, in terms of its political intrigue and complex sociopolitical themes.
Yesterday Origins continues to develop the character and themes set out in the first game, but falls short in a lot of ways. However, if you are interesting in a game that continues to explore themes of immortality and memory-or if you were at all interested to see what happens next after the end of the first game-then this game is for you. I would say that it's not pendulo's best game, but it is also not their worst.
While it's great that they are supporting Titan Quest after all these years, this expansion doesn't add as much as the first one. Overall, I would say the QOL improvements to the original game make this game worth purchasing-and if you are a fan of Titan Quest, which I consider to be one of the most chill and relaxing games out there, then this expansion is very much welcome as it continues to explore new settings and locations in ancient myth. Atlantis is a natural addition to the game and world. The Lore and story could be better, however-which is a complaint of the original game too.
Expansions for Paradox games add a lot to the core gameplay experience, but never quite enough to justify their price, in my opinion. However, if, like me, you just cannot get enough Stellaris, then this expansion is worth purchasing eventually. Perhaps wait for a sale.
Very interesting additions and story possibilities to the stellaris universe. Now I can play stellaris like an Issac Asimov story like Robots and Empire.
This game has some great characters and some great moments. It is best played on one of the easier difficulty setting because the combat is not very balanced at all and this can lead to some frustration.
Another species flavor pack that adds variety to the game, but I would wait for a deep discount on wingamestore to purchase-at full price it seems overpriced.
If you are fan of space capitalism, then this expansion pack is for you. The stellaris expansions are best purchased at sale prices because paradox tends to milk their franchises for all they're worth, to varying degrees of success.
The story packs for stellaris add a lot to the game. They are much better than the species packs, which don't add a lot of interesting content to the game for the price.
This is a very dense and complicated game that takes a while to get into. If you like looking at maps . . . not as fun and goofy as civilization series.
Definitely wait for a sale on the species packs because they are just portraits and voices, basically. Luckily, they are usually on sale on wingamestore.
