I do recommend this DLC because of the original race, which has a variety of mechanics, and two new interesting starting origins "Here be Dragons! and Ocean Paradise", and impact heavily on our system, or our planet. Now the new species update makes it even better.
It offers a unique Necophage, which takes the corpses of othe spieces into your own spieces, new civics, which allow you to reanimate armies, undead Leviathans.
I absolutely love this game! Why? It is very immersive, atmospheric and emotional. However, the best thing about it is its unpredictability both in terms of gameplay and story. A high quality game that improves upon the first game in every way.
In MegaCorp we'll become the president of a civilization controlled by a huge megacorporation. It has unique opportunities to trade, earn money and collect resources that potentially allow it to dominate the economy of the entire galaxy and create branches on individual planets or trade slaves and gain new assets. Caravaneers - these trade masters are often a source of surprises - their actions can further facilitate or complicate our plans.
Lithoids species pack has more content than the others and actually adds distinct gameplay mechanics compared to other species types. The portraits are well done and the new mechanics are fun to play with. You also get new soundtracks and assistant voice!
I will put it shortly. This is one of the most importat DLC to get for this game and it simply offers the most content. I think no other DLC has provided so much content for this game. Definately recommended.
It's good enough. If you like the base game and want more of this masterpiece. Yes, Bioshock is a masterpiece! So if like the the vanilla game, then get it. It doesn't add as much content as the base game, but it is definately worth getting at some discount.
Civilization is a classic. The expansion adds things that were introduced for the first time in the series. That is, new nice civs, including unique ones - govenors, enhanced alliances, timeline, great ages, loyalty etc. Check it out at wingamestore because they often have nice discounts.
As I said, this is the best DLC so far because of new functionalities that help you to specialize your city, add new city zones, districts to customize your city etc.
Some people only mention trams as a reason to get it. To me, it gives a lot more. Snow maps, snowy weather gives a total new dimention and feeling to gameplay. I do recommend it even without the trams!
