Death Stranding
 –

Weird game, great experience!

I just love it. Everybody saying this is a postman simulator is not able to look past the fetch quest structure. What really made this game stand out to me is not the delivery of things but the impact you have on the game world. You are building roads, zip-line networks, shelters and thus change the way you traverse and interact with the world. While your first journey to a different town might be hard the first time around, you then start think about how to effectively integrate it into your transportation network. The game talks an abundance about connections and bringing people together. And it really is true, for places anyway. You are bringing places together, decreasing distances and the predominant fetchquests thus become nothing more than kind of a reward to experience the impact you had while planning and creating the modes of transportation. It sure isn't for everybody but Death Stranding in my opinion is a very fresh take on gamedesign as a whole.
The story was quite meh though but kept me quite engaged to the end.
Anyway: I recommend!

Mafia: Definitive Edition
 –

I don't quite get the hype

I played the original Mafia when it came out and even had a great time with part 2. I did not await the remake feverishly but when it was released and got great reviews from journalists and players alike, I was intrigued and bought it here in the WGS. All in all I have around 25 hours of playtime now, finished the story, did all trophys and side quests and I can't, in good conscience, recommend this game, at full price anyway.
To me it just doesn't feel right. I believe the game structure is somehow altered compared to the original.
The story feels shallow connecting single missions like pearls on a necklace, making huge time jumps and often lacking progression in a sense that one thing leads to another. The story is told like: 1930, this happened, 1933, that happened, 1934, and so on. Characters are simimar in a way. you don't feel like they are developing themselves, or their relationships for that matter, in any way, shape or form. This sucks, and when thinking back to my childhood experience with the game, I believe that not to have been an issue at all. In fact, my memory of Mafia is one of great storytelling and character development. It has been a really good story about the Mafia in America.
If I simply have other standards for games and narration nowadays or if the great story has been been lost in translation of the Remake, I can't say.

Cities: Skylines - Concerts
 –

Not needed, but completionists might buy

This DLC is certainly not mandatory but if you want to complete your Cities collection WGS got some decent sale offers now and then.
Concerts provides you with small concerts, like the name suggests. I would wish for bigger and more creative venues.

Cities: Skylines - Campus
 –

Schools out for summer!

The Campus DLC provides a park or industry like mechanic for the building of Universities. It is not a must have in my opinion but a nice addition to your cities. It also adds another little bit more complexity to the base game which is always apreciated.

Cities: Skylines - Sunset Harbor
 –

More of everything!

Sunset harbor provides more industry, more transportation and more options to interact with the nautical parts of your map. I highly recommend getting it, even just to update your game for certain mods that are based upon it.

Cities: Skylines - Content Creator Pack: High-Tech Buildings
 –

Some nice looking assets!

Definetely not needed but the creator pack provides some nice looking assets like the space shuttle or the vertical farm. You even get a couple service buildings to bring a little more variety to your city. Would recommend!

Cities: Skylines - Content Creator Pack: European Suburbia
 –

Nice looking assets

Definetely not needed but the creator pack provides some nice looking assets. You can style your city more in a European way and thus can diminish the US-looking bias of the game a little further. Would recommend!

Silent Storm Gold Edition
 –

World War XCOM

The 3D-graphics do seem a little dated but this game is amazing. Especially the physics aproach was very much ahead of its time. If you can look past its looks, give it a try!

Cities: Skylines - After Dark
 –

Good times day and night

I enjoyed my time with Cities Skylines though I must say that most of my hours playing were with a deactivated day and night cycle to better see what I am doing. The nights are a nice gimmick to watch your cities and your zoning from another perspective. I also feel that it should have been a part of the base game but having a lot of fun with the game, I can come around paying a few extra bucks here and there.

Cities: Skylines - Green Cities
 –

Great new policies and skins

Green Cities offers some great new policies for your cities and, most of all, you gett new skins for your buildings.
You get new tools to deal with pollution and thus more complexity to the gameplay. Even though getting to know all these DLCs seems a bit tedious, I recommend buying all the major ones.

Cities: Skylines - Industries Plus
 –

It's the economy, stupid!

Industries adds a ton of complexity to the game by letting you handle multiple supply chains to not only further your cities happiness but also making a buck or two on the side.

Cities: Skylines - Mass Transit
 –

A traffic jam makes neither for good music nor marmelade

Another comment suggested that transit should differentiate between tourist, leisure or other forms of transit and I think this would be the cherry on top!
I love the new options for transportation with this DLC and it provides the means necessary to get a grip on those nasty traffic jams.

Cities: Skylines - Parklife Plus
 –

Good addition when on sale

I have to admit that I did not care much for the parks & recreation stuff in the game. However, it's a nice addition for the base game when you can get it for the WinGameStore pricing.

Cities: Skylines - Snowfall
 –

Let's plow some snow

A good but not an outstanding addition to the game. Certain maps now offer snow and let you build your personal winter wonderland towns.
While playing in other climates, I believe you won't even notice it's there.

Dead Cells: The Bad Seed
 –

Just awesome, plain and simple!

What's not to love with Dead Cells. The developers are still constantly expanding and tweaking the game to perfection and the Bad Seed DLC is not just a great expansion but also a good way to say thank you for this level of engagement.

I was a little worried at first that the game might be brutally difficult but since release the devs implemented a system that lets you choose your preferred difficulty and then progress nicely through the ranks.

XCOM 2 Collection
 –

Worthy successor!

XCOM 2 is a worthy successor and a joy to play. I still remember playing Terror from the Deep as a child and while XCOM 1 & 2 rebooted the franchise, the basic gameplay loop is fantastic.

Cities: Skylines - Deluxe Edition
 –

Lovely title

I bought this title a while ago and didn't touch it at first. Recently some youtube videos caught my eye and brought me back to it. People are building the most beautiful land- and cityscapes using this game. The leven of detail is absolutely amazing. And the contributions of the modding community are elevating this game to an even higher level.

I can't recommend it enough!

Sid Meier's Civilization® VI: Digital Deluxe Edition
 –

Another good one (not excellent though)

I love the Civilization franchise and come back to it repetedly from time to time. I agree with the popular opionion that Civ V is the supperior game to Civ VI. However it is a fresh touch to the series and it's fun to experience the ideas of the developers. I like the look and the new city building mechanic. Research, diplomacy and AI need improvement. And I don't care much for the dark and golden ages introduced with Rise and Fall.

All in all: Civ VI is still a recommendation, especially considering the pricing here on WGS.

The Patricians & Merchants Box
 –

A nostalgic buy

I have fond memories of Patrician III. For that reason alone I would recommend this bundle. Get it on sale though.
